AniMeteo shows animated pixel-art weather in rectangular Apple Watch complications.
Get started
- Open AniMeteo on your Apple Watch and allow access to your location.
- Touch and hold the watch face, tap Edit and swipe to Complications.
- Choose a rectangular slot (for example on Modular, Modular Duo or in the Smart Stack) and select AniMeteo: Now, Next 12 Hours or Next Hour.
If something looks wrong
- “Open the app on your Watch”: the app has not found your location yet. Open it once with location access allowed.
- The forecast is for another place: the complication uses the last location found by the app. Open AniMeteo after travelling.
- The animation stops: watchOS shows a still frame when the display is dimmed or Reduce Motion is on.
- Weather unavailable: check the Watch's internet connection and tap Refresh on the Info page.
- Next Hour says “Not available here”: Apple provides minute-by-minute forecasts only in some countries.
- Reinstalling: AniMeteo is an Apple Watch–only app, so it doesn't appear on the iPhone. Open the App Store on your Apple Watch, search for AniMeteo and tap the download button; you won't be charged again.
Settings
Tap the ⓘ button at the top left of any page to open Info, where you choose the scenery (Automatic uses the mountains above 800 m) and the frame rate: 1, 2 or 4 frames per second. Higher rates are smoother and use more battery.
Compatibility
Requires watchOS 10 or later. No iPhone app is needed. AniMeteo adds complications to existing faces; it is not a watch face. Weather data comes from Apple Weather.
