Privacy policy
Updated: 1 November 2026
Wristmote is developed by Luca Mattiazzi. This policy covers the iPhone app and its Apple Watch app.
Local network
The iPhone app looks for Sky Q boxes and Samsung or LG TVs on your Wi‑Fi with Bonjour and sends them remote-control commands directly over your home network. The addresses of the box and TV you choose, the pairing code a TV issues when you accept the app, and your settings are stored only on your devices. The developer does not receive this data.
Motion
While Wristmote is open on the Apple Watch, it reads the Watch’s motion sensors to recognize gestures. Motion is processed on the Watch and not kept. During calibration, the recording is analyzed on the Watch and discarded; only the resulting thresholds are stored.
Apple Watch and iPhone
Commands from the Watch reach the iPhone through Apple’s WatchConnectivity, directly between your own devices.
No tracking
No account, server, cloud sync, analytics, advertising or tracking is used, and the app makes no requests to the internet.
Purchase
Wristmote is sold by Apple under its own terms and privacy policy. The developer receives no payment details and no personal data from Apple beyond anonymous sales reports.
Deleting data
Deleting the app removes its settings and calibration.
Support and this website
If you email luca@grokked.it, the developer receives your address and message and uses them to reply. These pages use no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. The hosting provider processes technical request data such as IP addresses to serve the pages.
Changes
This policy will be updated if the app’s data practices change.
